My book: “Autismus, Trauma und Bindung neue Wege zu Regulation und Verbindung” (autism, trauma and attachment - new pathways to regulation and connection)
Updated on 22.2.2026 This book integrates a few of my areas of interest: autism, trauma, attachment, emotion regulation, embodiment and therapy. It will be published by the Kohlhammer Verlag in March 2026. Objectives One of the primary goals of this book is to introduce a trauma- and attachment- oriented model for understanding and treating autism. This model takes into account existing research and theoretical models and expands on them with current insights from stress and trauma research. It is a matter close to my heart to use evidence-based research to convey the many arguments in support of a body-centered treatment approach, such as Somatic Experiencing, f.ex. Furthermore, a key objective of this book is to bridge the gap between… autism and trauma evidence-based research and clinical, practical evidence, incorporating integrative, cross-disciplinary research findings talk-based psychotherapy and body-oriented psychotherapy (inspiration for psychotherapists and practitioners) autistic and neurotypical people The trauma-oriented autism framework promotes a more compassionate approach toward those affected and serves as a conceptual framework for new treatment options. About the content The includes chapters and informations about the followings topics: The Bayesian model (as a current theoretical model) Latest psychological and neurobiological research findings on autism, trauma, and attachment Polyvagal theory: a critical examination of its significance for autism The importance of early attachment for the development of autism The four-component model of autism: introduction of a new, dynamic concept of autism based on hierarchical (hypothetical) pathomechanisms Case studies, and much more! The summary of content, quotations and much more is available on the book website now: autismus-trauma-bindung.com What the book is not: Not a guidebook or self-help book with exercises Not a superficial description of autism from one perspective Not AI-generated work Available in English yet The book is available for orders online in the usual bookstores, such as: Amazon Orell Füssli Exlibris Kohlhammer Thalia Autorenwelt (through this website, autors will receive more from the sales than with other stores)
